Title Explanation

When predicting the sex of an unborn baby, the Oracle of Delphi is said to have claimed that it would be a "Boy No Girl." She thus covered both outcomes, as one could interpret the statement as "Boy. No girl," if the child was born male or "Boy, no-- girl," if the child was born female. Living in Ethiopia, it's difficult to know my role. Am I a foreigner, a "ferengi," or am I a local, like the Habesha? Sometimes, I'm a little bit of both.

Camp G-GLOW in Sodo - Starting Tomorrow!

So one thing I haven't talked much about here in this blog is Camp GLOW, a Peace Corps World Wide initiative focused on health issues and gender equality.  GLOW stands for Girls Leading Our World, and the extra G you'll note in the title stands for Guys to make G-GLOW - Guys and Girls Leading Our World.

I won't blog much about it here, but I am the blogger on the official Camp G-GLOW Sodo blog, along with the lovely Jackie.  Together, the two of us will be keeping you posted on our exploits over the next week.  If you are so inclined, please follow our blog at this address and let us know you're reading!

Here, I would personally like to thank my friend Laura again, for being so kind as to allow us to use her house as an address to send camp supplies.  I would also like to thank any anonymous (and not so anonymous) camp supply donors.  You'll make this next week a memorable one for our campers, and that is priceless.  Thank you.
